The Fuzzy Drove Conservation group was formed in 2015 with the objective of preserving this ancient route by maintaining trees, hedgerows and wildlife for the benefit of future generations.
Before we started work we sought views from local residents via a neighbourhood survey – we received 47 responses and the results are summarised below and were presented at our first public meeting held on 29th June 2015. Please follow this link to read more about the public meeting and see the material presented.
We collected a number of very useful comments and valid concerns that residents would have in relation to planned conservation work (e.g. ensuring access to properties isn’t blocked, concern that fast growing trees might block light from properties and that Fuzzy Drove should maintain a natural feel and not be over-restored). We ensured that all comments are taken into account when we developed our plans for conservation work in Fuzzy Drove.
